Medicaid is a program that makes health coverage available to low-income children, adults, and families. Medicaid helps people pay for doctor visits to stay healthy. It also covers the cost of hospital emergency services visits, hospital stays, long-term care, prescription drugs, and other services necessary to receive necessary health care. Medicaid recipients have very low cost for services and do not require a deductible/monthly payment.
