Brighton Park Neighborhood Council will be applying for funding through the Illinois State Board of Education’s Nita M. Lowey Twenty-First Century Community Learning Centers Grant to support our afterschool and summer academic support and enrichment programming for the 2026-2027 school year.
We are partnering with James Shields Elementary School, James Shields Middle School, Nathan S. Davis Elementary School, and Marie Sklodowska Curie Metropolitan High School to apply to provide programming on-site for students and families at their schools.
We will provide an additional update when we have learned whether our application has been awarded.

Schools serve as community hubs within neighborhoods. Read about our partnerships in the Full Service Community Schools report.
