School-Based Therapy / Youth Life Coaches

The School-Based Therapy/Clinical program (SBT) is composed of full-time Master’s level clinicians responsible for providing comprehensive school-based, English/Spanish mental health services to youth ages 5-18 and their families. Some of the services provided include but are not limited to individual, group and family therapy. These services are currently offered within Burroughs Elementary School, Shields Elementary School, Shields Middle School, Davis Elementary, Gunsaulus Elementary, Brighton Park Elementary, Kelly High School, and Solorio Academy High School, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Hours are flexible based upon the needs of the students and families.

Nuestros objetivos:
  • Provide direct counseling services to students annually through our school-based services.
  • Integrate mental health services into the disciplinary infrastructure at each school, especially: behavioral modification, anti-bullying initiatives, and positive decision-making skill building groups.
  • Provide skill-building and professional development workshops to parents and teachers at our school partners focusing on: effective identification and referral of at-risk students, relationship-building, stress management, and positive communication skills
  • Provide mentorship support to youth who are experiencing challenges with attendance or academic performance by offering individualized guidance, encouragement and access to appropriate resources.
