SCOTUS Decision on DACA

June 18, 2020

Today, the Supreme Court of the United States voted in a 5-4 decision to keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program from being terminated by the Trump administration. Since September 5th, 2017, DACA recipients have lived with anxiety and fear, unsure of the future of the program after President Trump tried to end the program. Hundreds of thousands of people have fought hard to make sure that DACA - many recipients who are our family members, our neighbors - continues.

This is a big win for our undocumented community! Today, over 800,000 DACA recipients can breathe easier. We will celebrate this victory. However, this fight is not over. We must continue to fight against the destructive and racist policies of the Trump administration. BPNC continues fighting for the rights of all undocumented members in our immigrant communities because we are HERE TO STAY.

BPNC is a proud member organization of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. Join us today at 6pm in English, 7pm in Spanish for an important discussion on DACA.
