On March 14, students from Brighton Park Elementary, Back of the Yards High School, Curie High School, Hancock High School, Kelly High School, and Lindblom Math & Science Academy organized walkouts at their schools and then headed downtown after school with a few students from Englewood and Simeon.

Youth held:

- train takeovers on the CTA

- a press conference at Daley Plaza

- a die-in at City Hall

- a mic check in front of the Chicago Board of Ed building

- and march on the streets of downtown Chicago

Many of the youth who participated in the walkouts and the action downtown shared their own experiences with gun violence in Chicago. These students have witnessed the effects of disinvestment in communities of color first-hand. These youth will continue to fight for more resources for their schools and communities.
