Foreclosure Prevention Program

Brighton Park Neighborhood Council (BPNC) is a HUD-approved non-profit organization that offers foreclosure prevention counseling free of charge. BPNC can assist you to apply for a loan modification or other home retention/transitional alternatives such as the Illinois Hardest Hit Fund (HHF). The HHF program is federal assistance help that is granting up to $35,000 to save your house from foreclosure.

Making Home Affordable Program

 

Circuit Court of Cook County Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation- Many homeowners whose foreclosure process has initiated can still receive housing counseling and legal assistance at no charge. Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA)-It is committed to assist existing homeowners to retain their properties from foreclosure and to assist new homeowner to acquire affordable housing.  

 

Homeowners’ Referral Helpline

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s homeowners’ referral helpline offers information and help to current homeowners in avoiding mortgage fraudulent practices and a guide to file complaint against lender. Call the office nearest to you at 1.800.386.5438 (Chicago)
