Education Equity

Systemic disinvestment, inequitable funding, and lack of transparency and community control in Chicago Public Schools is endangering the future of neighborhoods on the Southwest side. These inequities have disproportionately impacted communities of color and have an inordinate negative impact on at-risk students who need the most additional support.

BPNC seeks to address the inequity in Chicago’s public education system by building the collective capacity of southwest Chicago education leaders and public schools and organize campaigns for equitable funding for sustainable community schools.
