BPNC has partnered with the University of Illinois at Chicago Neighborhood’s Initiative (UICNI) and the Chicago Public Schools to develop a new school-based health center at one of our local elementary schools, Davis Elementary.  

 

The school-based health center is managed by UICNI in collaboration with the UIC Medical Center and its Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Miles Square.  BPNC is active in the governance and management through participation in the formal board of directors.  

 

Through this project, BPNC and its partners have increased our collective capacities to better serve the Brighton Park community and its growing health needs.  The health center provides comprehensive medical, mental health, nutrition, health and oral health education as well as supportive services for students and families of the Brighton Park community.  This site also provides clinical placement opportunities for health professional students from various health science colleges of the university.
