IL Dream Act
In 2011 the Illinois Dream Act passed which is a bill will make Scholarships, college savings and prepaid tuition programs are available to undocumented students who graduate from a high school in the state of Illinois. It also creates the Illinois DREAM Fund scholarship which is overseen by a commission of nine members. The commission will also create and organize training programs for high school counselors, admissions and financial aid staff. Professional development activities for high school counselors is required to include information about post-secondary opportunities for undocumented students.
